Pharmacognosy Class

1916 Pharmacognosy Case for Pharmacy Students

Pharmacognosy Class

Pharmacognosy class taught what was known as "crude drugs" since they were derived from plants. Pharmacognosy was intensive and difficult. The typical pharmacy student needed to learn and identify over 216 different plants and their parts. They would need to know how to grow and tend these plants as well as which part of the plant was the active and how to quantify the potency of these.
